Nearly 20 years ago, Owen Strand was the lone survivor of his Manhattan firehouse on 9/11. In the wake of the attack, Owen had the unenviable task of rebuilding his station. The crew races to an outbreak of mercury poisoning leaving its victims in a zombie-like state; Owen must come to terms with his illness; Michelle follows a new lead on her missing sister. Nearly 20 years ago, Owen Strand was the lone survivor of his Manhattan firehouse on 9/11, and in the wake of the attack, was left with the unenviable task of rebuilding the station. After a similar tragedy strikes a firehouse in Austin, Texas, Owen -- along with his troubled firefighter son, T.K. -- takes his progressive philosophies of life and firefighting down to the Lone Star State to help them start anew.
On the surface, Owen is all about big-city style and swagger, but underneath he struggles with a secret he hides from the world -- one that could very well end his life. It's so we have to top ourselves every week and you'll expect to see a lot more action and outrageous rescues. But this season we also have two big plot points driven by our new arrivals. One is our new paramedic captain, played by Gina Torres, and she is a spectacular actor and very comfortable with the action and the physicality and that's really important to the show. I'm also really excited to be reunited with my West Wing co-star Lisa Edelstein, who was the escort that Sam Seaborn fell for on that show.
We haven't been married in 15 years and suddenly we're living together, so it's allowed us to have some really fun, romantic comedy banter, which is a whole new element for the show. The action-packed season 2 finale left viewers with mixed emotions. While Tommy 's motivation for helping Austin residents was renewed, she was still reeling from Charles 's unexpected death.
On the job front, she and the rest of the 126 team were still displaced in the latest episode, but their time apart could actually be permanent if Billy gets his way. Though nothing is set in stone just yet, the idea of the crew being disbanded was enough for Owen to lash out at the new deputy fire chief. Owen Strand, the lone survivor of his Manhattan firehouse on 9/11, takes his progressive philosophies of life and firefighting down to Austin, Texas, where he helps the firefighters of Firehouse 126 start anew.
The 911 Lone Star Season 1 DVD is a drama series about a New York firefighter who relocates to Austin, Texas with his son, where he works to save people's lives while trying to solve his own personal problems. I live in Santa Barbara, California and four years ago we had a once-in-1500-year flash flood that killed 23 people in my neighbourhood. I got a front row seat to what first responders do on a daily basis. I had them staged at my house and so I very much understand by watching them, what they do.
Being able to tell their story every week gives me a ton of satisfaction because they're not cartoons or Marvel characters but they're our brothers and sisters and it's an honour to bring their stories to life. Following Lone Star's season two premiere, the drama's executive producer Tim Minear has admitted that it's his "dream" for Liv Tyler to return to the series – and that her character is still very much in Austin, Texas. In Monday night's Lone Star crossover episode, the Los Angeles 118 firehouse crew, including Buck , Hen , and Eddie , arrived in Austin to help Captain Owen Strand and the 126 take on a raging wildfire.
Of course, things escalated as quickly as, well, wildfire, and soon enough Owen and Hen found themselves trapped in an old mine shaft, confronting some physical and psychological demons. Owen, Michelle and the 126 crew race to a rattlesnake infestation at a young family's home, and attempt to rescue a man with dementia from a dangerous scene that he created. Meanwhile, Owen adopts a firehouse dog with cancer and Michelle finally learns the truth behind her sister's disappearance. Also, a tragic accident shakes the team to its core.
Rob Lowe as Owen Strand, firefighter captain from New York City and T.K.'s father. He was diagnosed with lung cancer as a result of being a first responder to the September 11 attacks, in which he also lost his entire firehouse. The ensemble cast has great chemistry and falls into a rhythm quickly in the first two episodes. Compared to the original series, "Lone Star" is a little more fun, at least after its tragic opening incident. The soundtrack is kicky, the rank-and-file firefighters cheekier and the references to skincare routines increased, in a gentle jab at Lowe. In addition to the steadystream of emergencies, the series focuses on Judd's post-traumatic stress disorder, Owen's cancer battle, TK's addiction struggles and Michelle's search for her missing sister.
Owen, who is secretly battling cancer, is tasked to rebuild the Austin team, and he recruits a diverse group from around the country, including his troubled son TK . They join Judd , Judd's operator wife Grace and paramedic captain Michelle Blake , among others. It's lung cancer that he got from Ground Zero. The doctor tells him it is the psychological of this that trip people up because he's young and otherwise healthy. The doctor can't even promise he'll make it to his son's wedding, though, so that's a lot to grapple with.
We're setting up Owen being able to take a step into the future. I wanted to make sure that everybody's character got service in this what's a big event episode. If any of the characters' arcs got moved forward, it would definitely be Owen's story got moved down the field.
Coming up, you're going to see a lot more exploration and deeper dives into the other characters. We'll find out about Marjan coming up quite soon. If you still have cable, it's your time to shine. To watch heroic Angela Bassett and Rob Lowe live all you have to do is make sure your TV is set to Fox before tonight at 8 p.m.

I have never missed an episode so here it is my comment on 911……It is an excellent TV show with very good and exciting story subjects.
Though Fox has already announced another "9-1-1"/"Lone Star" crossover is in the works for next spring, Minear also doesn't have a plan for that yet. Hey, give the guy a break — they just wrapped production last week on the finale you saw tonight. But he does think it might be nice to bring Austin's 126 — or what used to be the 126 — to visit Los Angeles' 118 this time, since the first crossover saw the reverse.
We won't hold him to that plan right now, but Lowe is certainly on board for it. Meanwhile, Owen and Gwyneth face a difficult decision in their relationship and Mateo regrets his new tattoo. The 126 crew responds to a military tank on the loose in downtown Austin and a human pile-up at the roller derby.

I'm really lucky to still be able to work because a lot of people are not able to work and we have 300 crew that were depending on us getting it right, so we have very strict protocols. We're all tested every three days; we're in pods and we don't mix on set and everybody working on set is in a mask and visor. That also makes doing the show harder because sometimes you can't hear what they're saying over the firebombs and helicopters in a scene when their mouth is covered by a mask.
Tommy walking right into the plot involving George and his son was undoubtedly manipulative, and the Negotiator-lite scenario that grows out of it doesn't hold up to much scrutiny. It would have been all too easy for this all to be too ridiculous to be believed, but the performances save it. Owen's involvement, which is entirely down to chance, is kept refreshingly low-key, allowing him to be there for Tommy but not take focus away from her. And Judd and Grace, back home with the kids, make for a solid emotional anchor; a reminder that even after all the drama at the hospital winds down, Tommy is still going to have to tell her kids that their father is dead.
Gina Torres shouldered a lot of dramatic weight in "One Day", delivering the full gamut of grief on fast-forward. On Sept. 28, Lucid Motors opened its doors to visitors for the first time to mark its official start of production. The company plans to make its first vehicle deliveries late next month. So the idea of making it in Texas and the fact that we were airing in a different time this year, we felt like this was something we could maybe do. Also, it's a very organic, non-contrived way of getting out-of-state firefighters to work with each other, because that is a real thing.
